We are truly honored to host one of the most esteemed professors in Urban Planning and Real Estate, Prof. Ali Parsa from the University of Westminster, London, at KANZU RESILIENT4WRD: Resilient & Agile for Future Living Lab today. Joining him were Dr. Abdul Jalil Omar and Dr. Indera Syahrul from the Malaysia Real Estate Institute (MyREI). Together, we engaged in a productive discussion focused on promoting KANZU, MyREI, and the Department of Real Estate at UTHM. Key topics included identifying and addressing pressing issues through Research & Development (R&D), the innovation journey from idea inception to R&D and commercialization, academic business models in the UK, and fostering collaboration between the University of Westminster, KANZU@UTHM, MyREI, and JPHT. Associate Prof Dr Raja Zuraidah and Associate Prof Dr Rozlin Zainal were also joining our session. We also explored current challenges in the built environment. The MOBILISE platform plays a pivotal role in digitally reducing the impact of disasters, while the outcomes of the TRANSCEND project, through the establishment of the RESILIENT4WRD Lab in Sarawak and UTHM Johor, demonstrate the success of stakeholder collaboration in managing and mitigating extreme weather events (EWE) digitally, such as floods and landslides, in Malaysia.
